Coat of Arms of Fiji 2 The Coat of Arms of Fiji 2 is a heraldic design that serves as an official symbol representing the nation of Fiji. It follows the previous version introduced in 1970, although modifications may have been made to reflect contemporary changes within the country. The central element on the shield features a cocoa pod and a bundle of sugar cane, which represent Fiji’s agricultural wealth. The shield is also adorned with a lion holding a spear in its paw, symbolizing vigilance and bravery. Above the shield, there’s an Olive branch and an Oak branch intertwined, signifying peace and unity. The crest on top consists of a Fiji Mermaid, traditionally used as a mythical guardian in Fijian culture. Supporters on either side are depicted as Kulakaua, ancient Fijian warriors. Below the shield, there’s a scroll bearing the national motto: “Rere vakautaka” which means “Unity in Diversity.” The Coat of Arms of Fiji 2 serves as a powerful symbol of national identity, reflecting Fiji’s rich cultural heritage and agricultural abundance.
