The second displays three Mullets (eight-pointed stars), representing Wallachia. The third quarter shows a lion passant guardant, signifying Bessarabia, and the fourth is empty, historically reserved for the Principality of Transylvania.Above the shield stands a helm adorned with a mantling in the form of two towers, representing the citadels of Suceava and Focsani – the former being the historical capital city of Moldavia.
