The Flag of Altmarkkreis Salzwedel, Germany is a heraldic banner representing the local government district located in northern Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Adopted on August 25, 1994, this flag is composed of five horizontal stripes arranged in alternating black and white colors with an aspect ratio of 3:5. The flag’s design symbolizes the historical connection of the region to the Teutonic Knights, as it incorporates the colors of their order. Additionally, the upper and lower edges of the flag feature narrower stripes of the federal colors of Germany (black, red, and gold), reflecting the district’s status as part of a unified nation.
