The Flag of Cantabria is the official symbol representing the autonomous community in the northern region of Spain. It was officially adopted on October 27, 1985. The flag consists of three horizontal stripes arranged from top to bottom in the colors blue, white, and red. The central white stripe has a coat of arms (Cantabrian shield) placed slightly towards the hoist side. The Cantabrian shield features a castle and the Cross of the Order of the Star of Nevhew with eight points, alluding to the historic links between the region and the Kingdom of Navarre. The flag is a significant emblem for the people of Cantabria and represents their unique identity within Spain.
