Flag of Chiba Prefecture Japan The Flag of Chiba Prefecture is a symbol representing the administrative division of Japan, specifically its eastern prefecture of Chiba. Adopted in 1965, the flag features three horizontal stripes in the colors green (hoist side), white, and red (fly side) – a design that mirrors the national flag of Japan with two additional colors. The green represents rice paddies, one of the prefecture’s primary agricultural products; the white signifies peace and purity; and the red symbolizes courage and the blood shed for the country. This flag is flown at various public buildings and events in Chiba Prefecture to celebrate local pride and identity.
