The Flag of Lower Saxony, a region in Germany, is a banner of heraldic significance that represents the state. It consists of three equal horizontal stripes in the colors of red, gold (yellow), and blue. The red stripe, located at the top, symbolizes bravery; the golden stripe, the wealth and power associated with nobility; and the blue bottom stripe stands for loyalty. This design has been officially used since 1946 as a symbol of Lower Saxony, one of Germany’s sixteen federal states.
