The Flag of Royal Prussia Germany, also known simply as the Arms of Prussia, is a historical heraldic symbol that represents the Duchy and Kingdom of Prussia. Originating from the medieval coat of arms of the Teutonic Knights, it was adopted by the Hohenzollern dynasty in 1525 when they became the dukes of Prussia. The flag consists of a red shield adorned with three black eagles facing two different directions and a white inescutcheon bearing a black cross potent. This design symbolizes the unification of the Margraviate of Brandenburg and the Duchy of Prussia under the Hohenzollerns. The flag was used until 1945, when Germany was divided, and it has since been adopted as a historical symbol by some modern German states, including Berlin and Brandenburg.
