Life (Boy Scout Merit Badge) The “Life” merit badge is one of the required merit badges for the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. This merit badge focuses on personal growth, understanding oneself, and planning for the future. The Life badge requires a Scout to demonstrate knowledge about personal strengths, career exploration, goal setting, making decisions, and handling personal finances. The scout also learns about citizen duty, personal health, and relationships with others. The process involves discussions with various adults, participation in service projects, and the completion of several required tasks. This badge encourages Scouts to develop essential life skills that promote self-reliance, self-discipline, and responsible citizenship.
