The “Mammal Study” is a merit badge offered by the Boy Scouts of America as part of their scouting program. To earn this badge, a Scout must learn about and demonstrate knowledge on various aspects related to mammals, including their physical characteristics, habitats, feeding habits, life cycles, and adaptations. The requirements involve identifying local mammal species, observing and recording their behavior, studying the effects of human activities on mammals, and participating in a conservation project. The aim is to encourage Scouts to develop skills in observation, research, and appreciation for wildlife, particularly mammals.
